About the Salient Achievements of the Department:   The department has been selected under DBT sponsored Star College scheme including five other science departments biz Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Physics and Zoology in the year 2012. The scheme supported for procurement of different instruments and equipments for routine piratical works and different activities for students and faculty improvement programmes. The department was also selected for DBT sponsored Institutional Bitech Hub during the year 2012 for "Strengthening of Life Science & Biotechnology education & teaching at undergraduate level". The faculties in departments under Science Stream are engaged in promoting & Guiding mini research projects on different topics by the undergraduate students and facilities developed through DBT-IBH and star College Scheme is playing a key role for it successful implementation
