About the Institution:
Darrang College is one of the premier institutes of teaching and learning in the state of Assam since its inception in the year 1945. Presently the college offers Undergraduate program in 25 disciplines. The science, Arts and Commerce departments of the college today boast of highly qualified and experienced faculties. It has adequate infrastructural facilities, well equipped laboratories and human resources for undertaking research and developmental activities . The college has been accredited B Grade by NAAC with 2.87 out of 4 points, in the year 2010. The college has been selected under Star College Scheme for six departments supporting development of Biotechnology and Institutional Biotech Hub, sponsored by DBT, Ministry of Science and Technology, science 2012. The college is being supported by extramural funded projects viz., DRDO, DST, DBT, CSIR, MoEF and UGC. The college has WWF sponsored a Conservation Centre, Vocational Centre and a Career Counsel Cell. Different sorts of Research and training activities are also being undertaken throughout the year besides academic curricula.
