About the Institution:
Jagannath Barooah College, briefly J.B.College, is a premier institute of higher education located in Jorhat - the cultural hub of Assam. Since its inception in 1930, the college has already marched a long way and celebrated the Platinum Jubilee in the year 2005 with a host of significant academic & non academic programmes. National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has awarded ‘A’ grade to this institute on the basis of its accreditation in 2011. With 20 departments under three streams, the College has four UG courses, two PG courses and one diploma course with over 3500 students (including the higher secondary level) and over 100 teachers. UGC has selected this college as College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) in 2011.
