About the Institution:
Thambal Marik College, Oinam, Bishnupur District, Manipur was established in 1980. The college, at present, has around 2623 students and is providing education in both arts and science streams at undergraduate and +2 levels. It is affiliated to Manipur (central) University and has 15 departments. The college offers honours and pass courses in 15 subjects, Department of Zoology is providing research facility in fish nutrition and diseases in collaboration with Life Sciences Department of Assam(central) University, Silchar. On 12th March, 2013, two research scholars who had been working under the co-ordinator & P.I, Institutional Level Biotech Hub, Zoology Department of this college had been awarded Ph.D. degree by Assam (central)University.One research scholar submitted her Ph.D. thesis during September 2013 and one is declared her Ph.D. on 23rd May 2014.Some other research scholars are also working in the same research laboratory. Moreover, a few UGC granted research projects are also undergone in Zoology, Physics,Chemistry,Statistics and Anthropology departments of the college.
