About the School:
Located in the eastern zone of Sonitpur District, Howajan H.S School is one of the leading educational institutions in Assam. It was established in 1958 as a high school by the people of Howajan under the leadership of a renowned educationist Late Bhogeswar Chutia. Subsequently, the school was upgraded to a Higher Secondary School in 1983. In 1992, Vocational Stream with MREDA and Accountancy & Auditing was introduced to the institution. Though it is in the district of Sonitpur, a lot of students belonging to different communities come to study here. Thus at present, it has an enrolment of almost 850 students. It is a full-fledged Higher Secondary School with three streams supported by well experienced teaching staff of 38 teachers. The school has earned a good name in the academic field with almost 100% result every year.
