About the School:   Today’s Cotton Collegiate Govt. Higher Secondary School was originally a High School when established in the year 1834, more than 180 years ago. Besides the Science stream, the school is having another three streams namely, Arts, Commerce and Vocational. Apart from inculcating a scientific bent of mind and a curiosity for the unknown, in the young impressionable minds of students in the classes XI and XII in its Higher Secondary section, this school has been holding a pride of place in the educational scene of Assam for more than a century. It has enormously rich contribution to the Assamese community in its long and chequered history and has produced eminent personalities in almost all fields of human endeavour including eminent scholars, academicians, scientists, civil servants, artists, doctors, engineers, social reformers and politicians whose names have attained legendary status in the Assamese community.
